My Rubik's cube times.
What cubes can I solve?
My WCA profile: Matthew's WCA!
I can solve many different types of twisty puzzles and compete to improve and learn better methods so that I can get faster times. The following is my cubing times records, cubes and averages:
| Puzzle | Personal Best | Average | Main Cube | Other Info |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3x3 Rubik's Cube |
9.98s | 18.36s | GAN 16 Maglev UV | The 3x3 Rubik's Cube is my favourite puzzle, I use CFOP as my method and have spent hours learning the advanced algorithms for full PLL and 2-look OLL, and I am working on learning full OLL. |
| Pyraminx |
1.93s | 7.60s | GAN Pyraminx Standard | Pyraminx is one of my favourite events - I have learnt and use the intuitive L4E method. |
| 4x4 Rubik's Cube |
1m 10s | 1m 22s | Moyu AoSu V7 Single Track | I have improved at 4x4 recently by learning a faster method with a step known as 3-2-3 edges as part of the Yau method but, I recommend the beginner's reduction method for 4x4 - I like 4x4 as although it is a time consuming big cube it doesn't take to long, and also the parity algorithms are very simple. |
| 3x3 Blind |
6m 21s | 10m 16s | GAN 16 Maglev UV | An absolute nightmare that I have somehow learnt. I would highly recommend learning it as it is not as daunting as you might think. Although I do usually DNF. |
| 2x2 Rubik's Cube |
1.76s | 6.05s | Qiyi M Pro 2x2 | I like 2x2 due to its fast pase and I use the Ortega method due to the similarity to CFOP. |
| Skewb |
8.12s | 12.48s | Gan Skewb Standard | I still use the beginner's method, and am planning on learning faster methods if I get a proper Skewb. |
| Megaminx |
1m 49s | 2m 10s | Qiyi Qiheng Megaminx | I quite like Megaminx but I am not very fast with it as I still use the beginner's method as faster methods require lots of memorisation. |
| 7x7 Rubik's Cube |
11m 49s | 12m 38s | Qiyi 7x7 M Pro UV Core Magnetic | I use the reduction method for 7x7. |
| Square-1 |
44.01s | 1m 5s | MGC Square-1 V1 | I use the intuitive beginner's method however, I have learnt a few more advanced algorithms to speed up my solve. |
| Rubik's Clock |
12.29s | 18.99s | Sengso Magnetic Clock | I like clock due to how mathematical it is as a puzzle however, I still use the intuitive beginner's method for now. |
| Corner Turning Octahedron |
15.95s | 24.57s | DianSheng CTO | I solve it intuitively using Pyraminx L4E for the last few edges. |
| 5x5 Rubik's Cube |
3m 5s | 3m 51s | Moyu Meilong 5x5 Non Magnetic | I use the reduction method for 5x5. |
| 6x6 Rubik's Cube |
7m 32s | 8m 23s | Moyu Meilong 6x6 V2 | I use the reduction method for 6x6. |
| 3x3 OH |
39.57s | 56.57s | GAN 16 Maglev UV | My least favourite of the WCA events... |
| 2x2 OH |
16.71s | 21.18s | Qiyi M Pro 2x2 | Its just a 2x2 solved one handed... |
| Mirror Cube |
1m 1s | 1m 7s | I don't know what it is called | I solve it like a 3x3 as it is a shape modification of a 3x3. |
| 2x2 Blind |
1m 20s | 1m 52s | Qiyi M Pro 2x2 | A first step to learning 3 blind. |
| Face Turning Octahedron |
2m 26s | 2m 36s | Dayan Ball Core FTO | I solve it (really inefficiently) using a simplified beginner's method. I may learn a faster method eventually. |
| Gear Cube |
17.81 | 18.65 | Mefferts Gear Cube | I solve it intuitively. |
| Mirror Cube Blind |
9m 56s | 9m 56s | I don't know what it is called | I solve it like a 3x3 as it is a shape modification of a 3x3, but by touch. |
| Master Kilominx |
16m 4s | 16m 4s | Shengshou Master Kilominx | I solve it using reduction. It is an extremely big puzzle (that somehow has no parities). |
| Gigaminx |
25m 34s | 25m 34s | Shengshou Gigaminx | I solve it using reduction. It is an extremely big puzzle (that somehow has no parities). |
| Pentaminx |
14.84s | 32.65s | Shengshou 3-layer Pentahedron | Pentaminx is a quite simple but strange event due to its 5 sides. |
| Skewb Xtreme |
35.70s | 40.57s. | Mefferts Skewb Ultimate | I still use the same method as for a regular Skewb as it is a Skewb shape modification. |
| Skewb Ultimate |

| Mirror Skewb Blind |
4m 9s | 4m 9s | Diansheng Mirror Skewb | I still use the same method as for a regular Skewb as it is a Skewb shape modification. However, I solve it by touch. |
| Twisted Skewb |
13.33s | 20.64s | I don't know what it is called. | I still use the same method as for a regular Skewb as it is a Skewb shape modification, but solve parity intuitively. |
| Fisher Skewb |
1m 5s | 1m 18s | Moyu Fisher Skewb | I still use the same method as for a regular Skewb as it is a Skewb shape modification. |
